Without a Job Offer, Immigrate to Canada: Ontario PNP
Contrary to popular belief, it is quite possible to get immigration to Canada without first obtaining employment
Unlike many other countries, Canada allows foreigners to get immigration without first obtaining a work offer.
Because Canada’s immigration system is so flexible and dynamic, those who haven’t yet found a job that will allow them to immigrate to Canada have a number of options.
While the Express Entry method is the most popular and desirable immigration path in Canada, the Provincial Nominee Program is an equally promising option (PNP).
Express Entry is constructed on a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), which awards points for a variety of human capital variables. While a job offer is not required for most Express Entry candidates, possessing one will result in a considerably larger amount of points and, as a result, a better chance of being invited to apply for permanent residence in Canada.
On the other hand, Canada’s PNP was established to ensure a more equitable distribution of immigration benefits across the country. Participating provinces and territories can nominate a certain number of economic immigrants for a permanent residency each year under the scheme. PNPs varied significantly from province to province, with each establishing its unique set of nomination requirements.
You must first be nominated by a province or territory in order to immigrate to Canada under the PNP.
Without a job offer, how can I apply for an OINP visa?
The PNP includes Ontario, as well as nine other provinces and two territories of Canada. Each year, one-third of all newcomers to Canada arrive in British Columbia. Employment possibilities, good pay, and a diverse population are all reasons why people prefer to live in Ontario.
One of the most active PNPs in the country is Ontario’s Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). Each year, approximately 8,000 invites to apply are given out via various channels.
If you want to live in Ontario but don’t have a job offer, you can apply through the Ontario Express Entry: Human Capital Priorities Stream. This program is for talented foreign employees who want to work and live in Ontario permanently. It enables the province to look for and nominate suitable applicants who have submitted a profile through the federal Express Entry pool and meet the language, job experience, and other requirements for entry into the provincial labor market.
To be considered and invited to apply in this stream, you must have a current Express Entry profile and meet Ontario’s standards, which include work experience in specified vocations or sectors.
If you apply to be nominated by Ontario and get a Notification of Interest, you will receive an invitation to submit an online application to the OINP using your Express Entry account.
You will get a Nomination Approval Letter if your application is approved. In the Express Entry system, you will be prompted to accept or decline the nomination. If you accept, you’ll get an extra 600 points on your Express Entry CRS score, thus ensuring that you will get an invitation to apply for permanent residency with the Canadian government.
With 4,851 NOIs already given to Express Entry candidates this year, the Human Capital Priorities Stream is one of the most active Ontario PNP streams.
